How to measure your artwork

Enter the exact width and height of your artwork, poster or photo. If you plan to trim a border, measure the size after trimming.

Arrows show artwork width horizontally and height vertically. The left example excludes a border to be trimmed; the right measures edge to edge.

Choosing a mount

Single Mount Double Mount

A Single Mount provides a clean, minimalistic look to provide space between the artwork and the glazing. A Double Mount adds a deeper premium look with an accent colour. Selecting No Mount means the artwork will be in contact with the glazing.

Explanation of the L-Shape moulding

We use the L-Shape in conjunction with the Stretcher.

Canvas artwork is first stretched over an inner frame made from MRA-HS11 (shown as the orange line).

This frame sits inside an outer frame made from MRA-0932 L-Shape, usually with a spacer to allow the inner artwork to sit flush with the outer edge of the L-Shape. Usually we set a gap of between 5 and 10mm.

This is what we call a 'Floating Frame', as it gives this appearance.

In the Frame Creator viewer window we need to show the full width of the L-Shape moulding (32mm). This is shown in the diagram below.
