Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a mount overlap my artwork?
To ensure the artwork does not just fall through the mount opening, we will cut the aperture slightly smaller than the size you enter. The mount will overlap your artwork by a minimum of 3mm on each side. This means that in total, the mount aperture will be at least 6mm smaller on both the width and the height compared with the artwork size you provide.
What is backing board?
Backing board is usually 2mm MDF placed inside your frame behind the artwork. It helps hold the artwork or mount board flush against the glazing to reduce rippling.

What is acrylic styrene glazing?
Acrylic styrene is a plastic-based substitute for glass and commonly used in the picture framing industry. It provides the clarity of glass whilst being far less fragile. Acrylic styrene is supplied with peel-away film on both sides for protection during manufacture and transit. If cleaning is required, a clean microfibre cloth should be used with an anti-static spray.
Do you frame shirts?
Yes, although we would ideally need to see the shirt in advance. You may bring the shirt in person or deliver it to us. Please visit us or get in touch to discuss a quote.
How long does delivery take?
For most products available to order on our website, delivery usually takes place within 3-4 full working days of your order. During busier periods, delivery may take longer and we will advise of this whenever possible. Please advise if your order has not arrived within the specified time and we will investigate.
Can I collect from your workshop?
Yes, during the checkout process for website orders you will have the option to collect. If this option is selected we will contact you once your order is ready.
Are your trade frames available in different sizes?
If you require a different size to the frames listed on our website please get in touch for pricing.
Can I order with separate backing & glazing?
If you prefer to secure the glazing and backing for trade frames yourself when inserting the artwork; these items including hangers can be wrapped separately within your delivery. Please contact us prior to placing your order if you would like to receive your frames this way. If you require flex-tabs or framing points to secure the back of the frame and an appropriate tool, both are available to purchase direct from My Room Art.
I require a large volume made, can you help?
Yes we can and regularly process bulk ordering. Please contact our Customer Service Team at sales@myroomart.com
Are custom frames supplied with a hanging kit?
All of our custom frames are finished ready to hang with either single or double D-rings and cord as standard. For larger frames we may use wire or security spring-clips.
Do you cut glass?
Yes, we can cut glass to any size. We recommend that you bring the frame so that we can guarantee the glass size is correct.ÂÂÂ
If you are happy to refit the glass yourself, then we can normally cut the piece while you wait. If you’d like us to fit it then we would need a little more time.
